HYDROGEOLOGY
Sigra has experience in civil and mining engineering aspects of hydrogeology. These civil engineering and mining applications include de-watering for surface and underground excavations and the stabilization of slopes by sub-horizontal drains. This is shown schematically in D6 and from an exhumed drain in P8. This capability is supported by field test and monitoring equipment and numerical modelling capabilities. Sigra's expertise in the complex area of coal seam methane reservoir engineering dovetails with the groundwater capabilities.

Field Services
Sigra's field capabilities include:

Consulting
Sigra provides a consulting capability backed by its automated field monitoring capability. This consulting covers hydrogeological measurement and analysis and the design of systems to extract water or to inject water. These skills have been applied to tasks as diverse as preventing de-watering around tunnelling projects (to control settlement), extraction of water to permit excavation and slope stabilization.

Equipment
Sigra can supply field data logging equipment to monitor and control de-watering or injection operations. It manufactures packers for testing purposes or for field injection. It can also supply packer systems for hydrofracture to stimulate water flow and to swage patches into damaged well casing.
